chic wedding inspiration –  Modern Blythswood Square Hotel wedding

23 April 2022

This week we welcomed Esme Saville onto the photography category in our directory, and so today we thought we’d share this modern, chic Blythswood Square Hotel wedding shoot to show you what she can do.

The inspiration behind this shoot was to show off how a Blythswood Square Hotel wedding can look “elegant, chic and modern, yet feel relaxed.” they explain. “Using white, green and neutral tones for the outfits and event set-up, we brought the beauty of the Blythswood gardens, which sit just opposite, inside the event space.”

To continue this understated, chic colour palette, Toby and Chris both wore smart black suits from Slater’s, with Taylor Ferguson hair perfecting their looks and a Rose ‘n’ Thyme buttonhole as the finishing touch.

Blythswood Square Hotel wedding venue is renowned for its combination of Georgian architecture and Glasgow city centre location. Esme used these to her advantage, saying “I enjoyed framing the models using the architecture, interior design & style of the hotel to create the final shots.” Everywhere you turn at the venue, Esme found a stunning space to snap a portrait; and not just inside, either, but outside in the Gardens too!

Inside, the grooms celebrated with a champagne tower – the ultimate in in luxurious wedding touches. Afterwards, they celebrated with a bike ride around the surrounding streets.

And thought they look the part, grooms isn’t exactly the right word, as Toby and Chris are a both professional models. However, as they’re also a real couple, they used the shoot to their advantage, as Esme explains: “They used these pictures on April Fools Day to trick their friends and family into thinking they had eloped to Scotland and got married. I watched the congratulations pour in on Instagram!”
