Sarah Brown’s work is inspired by the wild coastal swells and seascapes found on the shores of her native island of Islay off Scotland’s west coast.
Sarah draws upon memories of island legends and tales of creatures beneath the sea to create collections of evocative pieces that embody a sense of curiosity and of the unknown.
By weaving delicate lines of irregular compositions together Sarah creates series of patterns that aim to portray the endless detail that can be found in an untouched natural environment.
Although constructed completely by hand, each of Sarah’s tactile pieces look as though they could have been hauled straight from the depths of the deep blue sea.
