We look at catwalk trends for wedding outfits so often, but what about catwalk-inspired bridal beauty? We asked expert London bridal makeup artist CESCA how they bring runway style to the wedding aisle. Plus, they shared four red hot beauty looks for your wedding day.
“We specialise in wedding makeup with a touch of ‘runway luxe’,” founder Carla explains. “All of our team members are actively working in the fashion, tv, celebrity or film industry alongside weddings, which means you can have the catwalk inspired look you’ve always dreamed of.”
1 Shimmer Eyes, Pink Lips
Carla describes this as “the ultimate party look! Fab for brides that aren’t afraid for a touch of colour AND sparkle.
The look, created at Tom Ford Spring 2021, uses a blue lilac tone on the eyes. For our version, we’ve pared this back for a more wearable look using a neutral sparkle shadow. A magenta pink is applied on the lips with a dab, and applied with fingertips on the cheeks. The only accessory you need for this look? Glasslike, dewy skin! Leave the powder at home.”
2 Pink Eyes:
“Pink eyes can be a tricky one to pull off, but using a shimmer based shadow is the key, as shown at Emanuel Ungaro Fall 2016.” London bridal makeup artist Carla explains. “Pair with some individual lashes, and a nude glossy lip for a flirtatious look.
Add a delicate floral hair piece – like the Victoria Louise Accessories piece we paired it with here – to replicate the floral trend seen at Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2019.”
3 Blue Eyes
“We’ve taken a slightly lighter colour blue for the eyes, inspired by Julien Macdonald Spring 2019. Apply all over the lid, or for a more subtle approach use a light blue in the inner corner of the eyes. Remember this could be your ‘something blue’!”
4 Bold Eyes
“The most sought after look for evening weddings and after parties! The best thing about this is keep it as simple as possible. No blending of colours, no hard techniques. Always a favourite on the catwalk – like the below from Chanel Fall 2021, or Tom Ford Spring 2018 – we’ve used a black gel liner for a simple 360 ‘ring’ liner. To make this even easier you could change it up for a more 90s grunge look and instead apply a kohl pencil inside the waterline.”
