Have you ever wondered what it would be like to get married in one of London’s most iconic venues? Well, you no longer have to just imagine – because today’s styled shoot at the incredible Searcys St Pancras Champagne Bar shows you just how stunning it can be.
Searcys is a name synonymous with finery and luxury already, but the Searcys St Pancras space is extra special thanks to its location. It’s Europe’s longest Champagne Bar (in other words – the perfect unusual wedding venue!) and can be found on the upper level of St Pancras Station, against the backdrop of the Eurostar trains.
It was this juxtaposition that inspired videographer Holly Jensen, who came up with the concept. “The idea behind this event was to capture the connection between a couple when they perform ballet, and to intertwine it with a love story in London with a chic Parisian twist. What is more romantic than marrying in London then hopping on the Eurostar to honeymoon in Paris?
By combining my love for ballet, grace and movement, alongside my profession of filming weddings, capturing couples in love and showcasing incredible talent from other suppliers, myself and the amazing team who came onboard this project were able to create this shoot which takes you on a love story through the station. We visited different areas of Searcys St Pancras, each with a new outfit, using ballet throughout to showcase the dresses a little differently to normal, paired beautifully with Charlotte’s classic pointe shoes.”
On The Grand Viewing Platform, where a ceremony would normally take place, Charlotte and Francisco performed a breathtaking ballet routine (as well as being a real couple, they are also professional dancers with The Royal Ballet.) Alongside the iconic Tracey Emin neon sign that reads “I want to spend my time with you”, the upper level of the station – which is the backdrop for Searcys St Pancras – also features a towering sculpture by the world-renowned artist Paul Day. Often called the “Lovers Statue” it depicts two people embracing, and is therefore often thought of as one of the world’s most romantic, emotional spots. “This further emphasises how romantic and special this station is,” Holly says, “and this was another element which really excited me – using a venue which carried so much history and love.”
They then moved onto the Searcys St Pancras booths (complete with “press for champagne” buttons!) where they’d set up the stunning Malarkey Cakes cake. Francisco & Charlotte poured a magnum of champagne into a huge champagne tower – when in Rome – before sitting down for the dinner in the beautiful Brasserie area. The intimate wedding table setup, styled by Callie Pettigrew, featured a stunning floral centrepiece by Rooted in Rosemary, featuring fluffy roses and pastel pink anthuriums. Each place setting was finished with elegant, luxurious stationery by The Noteur.
Then, finally, Charlotte & Francisco moved over to a booth (complete with “press for champagne” buttons!) for one last glass of pink champagne before setting off on their honeymoon to Europe.
