CURATED EAST LONDON BRIDAL FOR MODERN CELEBRATIONS
We’ve been fans of The Fall Bride ever since they started, so we’re thrilled to welcome them onto The Wedding Collective directory. They offer a simplified, elevated alternative to the mainstream bridal shopping experience: a handpicked curation of laidback but luxury bridal designers, selected for not only their quality and style but their ethos and values too.
Amongst other limited edition trunk shows, they stock Jessica Bennett, Kamperett, Paris Georgia, AM Faulkner, Aura, Sophie Et Voila, Nikeen Asar, & For Love, Lelet NY, Lola Varma, Sleeper, and Harriette Gordon (whose designs you might recognise from the cover of our 2021 Annual…)
And it’s not just the designers themselves that are carefully considered, but the entire space and experience for everyone walking through the doors of their East London showroom. We chatted to The Fall Bride’s founder, Annelise, to learn a bit more about what they do…
WHO ARE YOU + WHERE ARE YOU BASED?
Hi! I’m Annelise and I’m the founder of The Fall Bride in East London.
DESCRIBE YOUR WORKPLACE.
Our warehouse space is very minimal and calming – concrete, white drapes, grey velvet and a candle or two.
WHERE/HOW DID IT ALL BEGIN?
Friends and colleagues started getting engaged and while I was helping them research dresses and stores to visit I realised there was nothing I personally resonated with. My background is in fashion (marketing, wholesale and retail) so I thought I had a good enough knowledge of how the business would work to take the leap.
WHO/WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
At work – each of our designers as they have such a unique perspective on bridal wear. I have zero design skills myself so the beautiful shapes and construction that they come up with blow me away!
Personally, I am very inspired by ceramic artists and abstract painters.
DESCRIBE YOUR TYPICAL DAY.
Outside of a pandemic (!) I’ll spend weekdays doing admin – all the not-so-fun stuff as well as fun stuff like reviewing new designer collections. Evenings and weekends are appointment time – we see 8 people a day usually.
WHERE’S YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE TO GO?
Head to Crate Brewery after a long day of appointments for a pizza and large vino.
FAVOURITE WEDDING VENUE?
It was the Ace Hotel rooftop in London (R.I.P.), and Masseria Moroseta in Puglia, Italy.
TRENDS YOU HOPE TO SEE THIS SEASON.
Brides wearing whatever the hell they want and not caring about family opinions. Life is short and I think a year inside has us all itching to be more fun and expressive with what we wear.
BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE BEEN GIVEN?
Be patient and try to take a step back and see the bigger picture.
