ELEGANT, LUXURIOUS LONDON WEDDING PLANNER

If you’re looking for a London wedding planner who specialises in elegant, unforgettable weddings, we’d like to introduce you to our good pal Primrose Weddings + Events. With a focus on good design, Francesca works with you to develop an event that’s luxury but understated, and bespoke to you whilst being brilliant for your guests. We caught up with her to peel back the luxurious linen curtain and sneak a peek behind the scenes at Primrose Weddings + Events, and see what goes into making these events so memorable.

WHO ARE YOU + WHERE ARE YOU BASED?

I’m Francesca from Primrose Weddings + Events. I currently live between both the Chilterns in the UK and West Cork in Ireland

DESCRIBE YOUR WORKPLACE.

I work from a small studio. I always have a coffee and notebook by my side, and a Spotify playlist or podcast on in the background. When in the UK, I look out on the hills and woodlands of the Chilterns. In West Cork, I have view of the Wild Atlantic Way coastline.

WHERE/HOW DID IT ALL BEGIN?

It all started in 2018 with my own wedding. I’d been an event manager for nearly 8 years at this point, but this was my first taste of styling and design and I was hooked. I ran Primrose alongside a full-time job and during that time I had the opportunity to support a number of clients and work with creatives in the industry. In mid-2020 I made the decision to go full time with the business – which to a lot of people seemed like a risk given the pandemic. For me, I knew how it felt to help people with the most important day of their lives, I knew how incredible and supportive the wedding community was, and for the first time ever, I knew what I wanted to do with my life.

DESCRIBE YOUR TYPICAL DAY.

It all starts with a coffee. Then onto my notes – I love notebooks and definitely think that good stationery makes for great to do lists! Between check-ins with my clients and friends in the industry, planning and designing, and a little bit of time on Instagram and Pinterest, the day goes by in a flash. I try to do some sort of exercise, and I speak to my mum every day. While we’ve been in lock down, most evenings are spent with my husband, making dinner and listening to music.

WHERE’S YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE TO GO?

Italy! From my first trip as a child (my aunt and uncle live just outside Rome) to my most recent visit on honeymoon, Italy has everything I love. Great food, beautiful scenery and incredible history, not to mention fantastic style and true romance.

As it will likely be a while before we get back there, my next favourite place has to be the countryside. I know a lot of people will feel the same – Covid-19 has really given us the chance to explore and appreciate our surroundings. At the weekends my husband and I go out for a walk or bike ride, making sure to plan a route with somewhere to stop for a take away coffee (and gluten free cake).

TRENDS YOU HOPE TO SEE THIS SEASON

I hope to see more colourful, romantic, meadow inspired florals. I hope too, to see more silver being used in designs – I love deep grey-silver accents that reflect candlelight and colours used in the styling.

BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE BEEN GIVEN?

‘Hold your nerve’.
I was given this advice by someone I really respect. I think it’s so powerful when facing any sort of challenge and is all about reassuring yourself of the decisions you’ve made and remaining positive.
