for modern, alternative bridal hair inspiration –  Our top wedding hair accessories in the UK

1 October 2020

It’s been the year of many things, but 2020 has also been the year of the hair accessory. Be it bows, scrunchies or bandanas, they’ve been on most people’s lips, wishlists (and instagram feeds). And this is no different for weddings, too – so we wanted to round up our favourite modern wedding hair accessories in the UK for you.

We asked two of our directory members, hair styling extraordinaires Nicola Beddoes and Linton & Mac to give us their insider picks too!

Loved By One

We love love love Aimee‘s bridal headpieces and pins, featuring Swarovski crystals and stones and celestial inspiration. They’re a modern take on ethereal, giving dreamy romance a totally modern day aesthetic.

Aura Bridalwear

First up on Jaye from Linton & Mac‘s recommendation list is Aura Bridalwear. Handmade in Dublin by Central Saint Martins Fashion grad Caragh Quinn, the collection is full of padded headbands in luxurious fabrics, using expert techniques resulting in stunning textures. Feathered, embellished, gathered, knotted – they’re the super modern wedding hair accessories that will perfectly finish off your outfit (plus, wear it after your wedding too, to jazz up any outfit!)

Lilley Studio

Nicola‘s loving Lilley Studio at the moment, and we definitely agree. Danielle uses natural inspiration, such as pearls or raffia, to create beautiful wedding hair accessories and jewellery.

Laura Ironside

Laura‘s on our directory with her beautiful eco-friendly bridalwear, but did you know she also makes hair accessories too? Her plaited headbands are made from the leftover silk from her garment manufacture, making them totally sustainable wedding hair accessories too.

SuiAva

The Linton & Mac ladies also have SuiAva in stock at their Aberdeen store. Their candy-like cute make them a perfect choice for our top wedding hair accessories list, especially for lowkey, laidback civil ceremonies or city weddings!

Tilly Thomas Lux

Nicola‘s next recc is Tilly Thomas Lux, who artfully handcraft every crown and headpiece in their studio in London. With Art Deco levels of elegance and luxe but 2020 levels of modernity and understated cool, their angular aesthetic pieces will make sure you feel as good as you look.

Eden B Studio

Nicola‘s also got heart eyes for Eden B. Studio, who make elegant, nature-inspired hairpieces. Hannah’s designs feature flower heads and trailing vines made from beads and hand-finished clay flowers, which make the perfect wedding accessories to finish off a bohemian bridal look.

Big thanks to Linton & Mac and Nicola Beddoes for their recommendations!
