real wedding –  natural greenery Aswanley wedding

20 July 2020

Today on the blog, we’ve got a gorgeous wedding from one of our top Scottish wedding venues, the beautiful Aswanley.

Aswanley is a wedding venue that has it all: a beautiful old house and spacious Victorian barn surrounded by gorgeous gardens and the greenery of the Grampian Highlands. It was this greenery that Abbie & Stephen chose to emulate for their summer wedding, with a modern, nature-inspired green, pink and cream colour palette that perfectly complemented Aswanley’s features. They used bold floral designs by Val Morrison, from the stunning flower arch for the ceremony in the ballroom to the tall floral table centrepieces for the reception in the fireplace room.

Abbie and her bridesmaids went for a twist on this colour palette, with the bride in a beautiful lace dress and soft veil, and her bridesmaids in super chic cowl neck dresses that looked like they were made from liquid silver silk. Our girl Rae Mathieson was behind their glowing bridal make-up,

Aswanley also boasts 2 lovely in-house wedding co-ordinators, meaning you get a super personalised experience as you plan your wedding there, as Sophie Piper explains:

“Abbie and Stephen’s day was about pure celebration and doing it in style! They’d been together for more than 10 years and they were already a real team, and had been planning their day for years! We meet with our couples as often as they wish, helping them sort out all the details to achieve their perfect day; on one such visit they arrived covered in paint from doing the finishing touches to Abbie’s new salon – it was lovely to see how they were already so supportive of each other.

They found Aswanley because Abbie’s sister chose us for her wedding years ago and she’d loved it. In addition, Abbie’s Mum knew many of our suppliers so was confident that Abbie & Stephen were in safe hands. And in turn, we really do have the best couples who bring the best guests – this had such a celebratory atmosphere, and they knew how to party! The dance floor was packed all night…”
