PLANNERS WHO HELP YOU HAVE A RULEBOOK-FREE WEDDING: THE OXYMORON THAT JUST MAKES SENSE

DRUMMMM ROLLLL PLEEEEASSSSEEE as today’s supplier spotlight is on the dream team that are Revelry Events. Susie and Holly plan weddings in London and Scotland that are rulebook-free; which might seem like an oxymoron, but actually makes *so* much sense. Their weddings are fun-filled, emotive, and planned to perfection, which is everything you want a wedding to be, amirite? Meet the two lovely ladies here…

WHO ARE YOU + WHERE ARE YOU BASED?

Revelry Events are award-winning, creative wedding planners based in London and Scotland, who believe in rulebook-free weddings – helping you to put your stamp on your wedding day without being waylaid by traditions you’d rather do without. We bring passion, creativity and a truly personal wedding planning service to ‘nearlyweds’ wanting a little or a lot of help for their big day.

We take care of everything from full planning and creative design, to managing wedding budgets, sourcing wedding suppliers and venues and handling pesky wedmin.

We produce weddings that don’t fit the normal conventions, push creative boundaries, capture your personalities and, most importantly, show everyone a damn good time.

DESCRIBE YOUR WORKPLACE?

We’d love to say its some super swish offices with views across London and the Scottish Highlands but we have decided that working in pjs is far more important than a fancy desk and views.

We both work remotely in our own homes, so tend to be surrounded by mugs of tea, half open packs of biscuits that we only meant to eat one of and Amazon packages our hubbies have ordered knowing we’ll be in for delivery (we’re not bitter!) We’re not total hermits though, we do head out into the big wide world for meetings with venues, suppliers and of course our couples.

WHERE/HOW DID IT ALL BEGIN?

Holly kicked off the wedding planning business decades ago because she bloody loves a good wedding. Susie joined five years ago after a decade of working in PR and Events and wanting a career change. That was when we were both living in South East London, making big plans in tiny coffee shops and now we operate in both London and Scotland creating brilliant weddings for our couples all over the UK and abroad.

FAVOURITE WORK TO DATE?

Oooh that’s a tough one, we’ve done some brilliant ones recently. Sometimes its how it looks, sometimes its the good vibes of the day. We can’t pick just one but (shameless plug) head over to our latest weddings page on our website and you’ll see our recent favs.

DESCRIBE YOUR TYPICAL WORK DAY.

No two days are the same. We could be out on venue visits, doing tastings with clients (it’s a tough job, especially the cake!), getting creative with the design, dutifully logging everything on a wedding budget spreadsheet or sourcing quotes for suppliers to name just a few. It does however, normally include the aforementioned cup of tea and biscuits.

FAVOURITE WEDDING TO DATE?

We love a dry hire venue as it really means we can get properly stuck in with the design and working out all the nitty gritty logistics.

TRENDS YOU HOPE TO SEE THIS SEASON

Funny you should ask, we do a trend report every year, it’s on our website if you care to take a look. There’s lots of interesting things for 2020 but we’re hoping that sustainability starts to come through even more and becomes a staple rather than a trend.
