WHO ARE YOU + WHERE ARE YOU BASED?
Style Your Spaces is a creative studio based in Edinburgh, specialising in floral design, styling and planning for modern weddings, unique brands and one-off events. We create contemporary and imaginative floral installations using sustainable floristry methods wherever possible and sourcing seasonal ingredients from local suppliers.
Along with floral design, we also offer detail-orientated styling and planning services including sourcing bespoke props, creating beautiful tablescapes and on-the-day wedding coordination.
We only work on a select number of projects each year, both within the UK and further afield, combining our expertise and realm of creative contacts to produce beautiful bespoke events, installations, product launches, press days, photoshoots and weddings.
DESCRIBE YOUR WORKPLACE
We work from a small studio space in Edinburgh with dreams to eventually upscale and have an open studio/workshop space where we can host events, hold our client consultations and turn one end into a prop house and photography studio for all sorts of creative businesses.
WHERE/HOW DID IT ALL BEGIN?
I (Katie) started out in food styling with my own food blog and a passion for making things look beautiful.
After a stint training as a professional chef at Leith’s School of Food and Wine, I co-founded pop-up events and supper club business Cook & Baker in London and directed events for the likes of Vogue and Jackson & Levine.
(I also trained as a yoga teacher during this period too.. which definitely helps in bringing that yogi calmness to the planning of your wedding day..!)
This then lead to a career styling and planning bespoke events and luxury weddings in the UK, Australia and Madrid.
My passion for making things look beautiful and also a love for being surrounded by nature quite naturally led to a love affair with flowers. My approach to floristry is design-based, with each installation created on a custom basis, involving various different sketches to incorporate differing textures, colour schemes and seasonal ingredients.
Style Your Spaces was founded in October 2019 in Edinburgh.

DESCRIBE YOUR TYPICAL DAY
Everyday is wonderfully different running a business.
I’m a yoga fanatic and find it an incredibly calming way to start my day so I’ll usually be up and out first thing to the local yoga studio down the road. Unless it’s just before an event and then I’ll be on my way to the flower market by 6am to pick out the best stems.
Most likely followed by coffee and emails.
I’ll spend most of my afternoons sketching up proposals for clients, choosing fabrics and props for a tablescape design or working in the studio on a new installation.
WHERE’S YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE TO GO?
I’m drawn to nature and particularly the beach. I’m happiest on a cold but sunny winter’s day, all wrapped up and sitting on the beach as the sun goes down.
