YOUR FAVOURITE EDINBURGH EATERIES CATER WEDDINGS, YA KNOW!

If you’ve ever eaten at either of The Pantry‘s Edinburgh locations or the lush Finn and Bear in Leith, you’ll know these guys are serious about good grub and good vibes. (And if you haven’t – what are you doing with your life? Scoochay your bootay there as matter of urgency.) But did you know they cater weddings as well? Whether you’re looking for canapés, picnic style grazing or takeaways from their Tuck Truck, The Pantry guys can do it all for you. Plus, they’re a super lovely bunch! Evidence below…

WHO ARE YOU + WHERE ARE YOU BASED?

We are Pantry Events – a group of food loving, design crazy caterers based in Edinburgh. We LOVE all things wedding and all things food!

DESCRIBE YOUR WORKPLACE

Pantry Events are part of the Pantry family – known in Edinburgh for brunches, coffee and cake (the three best things in the world). We’ve just moved into our BRAND NEW events office in Colinton and we’re loving it! The new office is all about maximising what we can do as an events team. We even have a tasting room where couples can come and sample their menu before the big day.

WHERE/HOW DID IT ALL BEGIN?

The Pantry story began in 2012 when Chris and Charlotte opened the doors to the Stockbridge restaurant. Fast forward five years and the restaurant formula was well and truly mastered with three all singing, all dancing restaurants in Edinburgh. Naturally, the next step was to bounce into the events industry. It started with the tuck truck (our amazing horse box) and we’re now 2 years down the line with 60 weddings booked for this year – crazy eh?!

FAVOURITE WORK TO DATE?

We did a wedding at Cow Shed Crail in November last year – definitely our favourite one to date! The Little White Cow (wedding gods) had pulled it out the bag with their amazing styling and the venue just looked amazing. Catering for the day was literally a foodie’s dream – everything from halloumi lollipops to pork and crackling to sticky toffee pudding – it was the most amazing winter menu.

WHO/WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

We take a lot from other suppliers in the industry. We know that we won’t always be the first to pick up on a trend so its great to see what others are doing.

DESCRIBE YOUR TYPICAL DAY

Is there a typical day in the wedding industry?! Weddings are different every week and we tend to be all over the place! We usually arrive at the venue and get the tables set for dinner and get set up for the reception! Post ceremony it’s go go go! Obviously the majority of our day is all about the food but we also run the day for a lot of our couples so there is never a quite moment! If we’re not serving canapés, we’re moving chairs or lighting candles!

WHERE’S YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE TO GO?

We love being in the car going to venues/IKEA – sounds a bit silly but its a great way to get to know the team!

FAVOURITE WEDDING VENUE?

We’re huge fans of barns. We love that no matter how many times we go to the same venue, it always looks different and really reflects the couple who are celebrating their day!

TRENDS YOU HOPE TO SEE THIS SEASON

We want to see a lot of pampas grass – we are OBSESSED since we saw it at Mandy Moore’s wedding! It’ll definitely change up the foliage game!

BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE BEEN GIVEN?

We tell our couples to make their day completely about them – ignore parents and aunties and uncles! Be selfish when planning your wedding so that the day reflects you!
