Just a couple of beauties who eloped to Iceland on the blog today, as you do…
Gordon and Christina decided to turn their wedding into an adventure and get married at the epic Buðir Black Church in Iceland. It’s an incredible venue in the middle of a field of lava rock, where its isolated little figure studs the huge sky. The inside of the building is just as quaint as the outside, with low ceilings and gorgeous dark beams. After their small and intimate church ceremony, Gordon and Christina then embarked on a drive around the coast. Their reception was held at a suuuuuuuper cute family-run restaurant called Bjargarsteinn House of Food, which served dish delish traditional Icelandic food accompanied by the loveliest handdrawn menu you’ll ever feast your eyes upon.
Day 2 of their beautiful Icelandic elopement consisted of exploring around the coast with their photographers, The Curries (who are, coincidentally, another G & C), to capture the magnificence of the Icelandic scenery. Some of the drop dead gorge spots they visited included the world-famous Reynisfjara black-sand beach, as well as cascading waterfalls and geysirs. As you do.
If a wedding in Iceland wasn’t on your list, we defy it to not be now – Gordon and Christina’s portraits are breathtaking in the literal sense. We don’t know whether it’s in the air, the water, or both, but it’s a totally magical backdrop for a completely magical adventure. And isn’t adventure the whole point of elopements?
