real wedding –  relaxed greenery and copper at Balbegno Castle

24 September 2018

Ohhhhhh today’s wedding is a beauty! Lisa and Stuart’s elegant Balbegno Castle wedding was the epitome of classy, with a gorgeous minimalist colour palette and a beaut copper and greenery theme, all captured by TWC babe Lisa Devine. Devine by name, divine by nature…

This wedding is the perfect explanation of the difference between classic and classy – and we mean that in a good, complimentary way, so stick wit’ us! – as it was classy and elegant without being ‘classic’ in a boring, traditional way. With a modern yet timeless theme, Lisa decorated the day with loads of greenery, succulents and copper details to go with the minimalist colour palette. Just look at her bouquet – texture for DAYS. Those shapes, our heart…

The deliciousness continued with an intimate ceremony, held in a room in Balbegno Castle itself which was decorated with fronds and foliage. Lisa and Stuart also had a surprise in store for guests: a group of singers pretended to be guests, sitting amongst the real ones, and then at the very end came out of their seats and sang. IMAGINE.  It got everyone off their seats and singing along, before they spilled out into the lawn to continue the celebrations in the gorgeous May sunshine.

For the reception, Lisa had curated the tablescapes of our insta dreams. The family-style-dining tables were set up for relaxed eating, and laden with more greenery, glassware, beautiful forest green napkins and Edinburgh Gin bottles (as any good wedding table should have). She also did all of the calligraphy herself, including the timeline of the day, the table numbers, the sign for their gin bar (words to live by), and her vows.

The day ended with glitter, swings, and some serious dancefloor action -and with Lisa Devine as their photographer, we get to experience the day in all of its beauty. This lighting is just fire emoji fire emoji, is it not?
