26th July, Glasgow - be there or be square –  The Wedding Collective Market You Can’t Miss

12 July 2018

Roll up rolllll up – have you heard the coolest wedding collective in town are bringing the hottest suppliers to Briggait for a summer evening bridal market? We don’t mean to toot our own horns, but we’re tooting – on the 26th July we’ve got loads of incredible suppliers coming to meet you lovely lot, and hopefully solve those last wedding woes that you have.

Our markets aim to be an escape from the maddening crowd; a calm and pally approach to planning that doesn’t leave you severely stressed, totally overwhelmed, or feeling physically bruised from aggressive sales tactics. We pledge to save you from the godawful Google trawl of wedding planning, instead connecting you with super talented and super lovely wedding suppliers who can make your wildest wedding dreams come true.

Meet the dreamy suppliers we have for you below:

Oooooh we’re spoiling you with the best florists Scotland have to offer at this July market – you’re welcome. We’ll have the incredible PYRUS ladies in with their seasonal, home-grown flowers and forages, Cosmos Floral Design with her bright and unstructured brilliance, and Lisa from Sparrow & Rose and her gorgeous designs with edge.

If you’ve got a twinkle in your eye for a twinkle in your wedding outfit, we’ve got you covered. You’ll be able to meet the lovely Rene Walrus, who makes the most incredible vintage-inspired accessories perfect for the modern day; the creative genius that is Sarah Brown Jewellery and her rings inspired by the swells and seascape of our gorgeous Scottish coast; the super talent that is Alison Macleod Jewellery and her jewellery that pays homage to antique heirlooms; and the contemporary queen Katie Lees Jewellery and her cutting-edge Glasgow-inspired designs.

Our faves Three Sisters Bake will be at the market repping the less traditional side of wedding cakes, including their signature dessert tables piled high with gorgeous baked goods. We’re salivating at the thought already…

Make-up artists can be a major thing, as it’s not just about how good their photos look on the ‘gram – you want to make sure you feel comfortable in their hands and get on with them on the day. We’ve got you covered with some incredible MUAs at the market: Nicola Farquhar MUA, who specialises in creative and original bridal make-up, and Heather Snowie Make-Up Artist, queen of an elegant and editorial-style bridal look will be there. The babes from AMM Team will also be there, working with your own personal sense of style to tailor your bridal look to your preferences; and the gorge Rae Mathison, who’s make-up travels and skills are super impressive, will be there too. 33 Dowanhill will also be on hand to take care of your skin with a range of diverse products specially chosen (and sometimes specially blended) just to suit your skin in the run-up to the big day.

Lads, ladies and lovelies, we’ve got you covered with the selection of wedding attire that will be at the market. There’s nothing like seeing dresses in real life and feeling the gorgeous fabrics, so we’re delighted that you’ll be able to see the 1930s-inspired modern cuts from Laura Ironside and some ethereal bespoke numbers from Rowan Joy Bridal. The Walker Slater boys will also be there with their super stylin’ tweed suits for those looking to inject some creativity and personality into their wedding day.

We legitttt cannot stress enough how important it is to get on with your photographer, so meeting them beforehand is a must, if you can. Luckily all of our curated ‘togs are not only super talented creative geniuses, each bringing something magical and different to documentary reportage, but also the perfect people to have around to capture your moments (both big and small). Meet the lovely Sequoia and Sam from Mirrorbox Photography, Martyna and David from Wonderful & Strange, Lauren of Lauren McGlynn Photography, and Solen Photography and her ‘wee team of lady legends’ at the market.

We’ve lucked out with our stationery selection: The Passenger Press will be at the market to answer all of your pressing (geddit!) stationery queries and give you a chance to see their gorgeous creations up close and personal; all of their stationery is printed on an antique treadle press, giving it the most incredible texture and raised feel. Com Bossa Wedding Invitations will be also be there to showcase their luxury wedding collections and talk passionately about all things print, design and font to nail your suite. It’s the thing that will set the tone for your big day, so it’s important to get it right!

Be sense-ible (don’t groan at that, that was great) and think about treating your guests’ eyes and ears at your wedding with some entertainment. We’ll have the quirky photobooth from Bygone Booth at the market to help you provide timeless fun, and the sultry piano-and-vocal duo Ginny and the Tonic jazzing up the songs you know in the amazing way only they can.

Ticking off the venue from your to-do list can be the biggest relief, so we’re thrilled to say we’ve got the wonderful Sloans exhibiting at our market. Sloans is one of Glasgow’s most loved venues, hosting people in love and helping them celebrate their big day for over 200 years, so they’ll definitely be able to help with yours…

With these markets, it’s super important to us that we create a space and enviornment that makes you feel relaxed and like you’re actually enjoying yourself, rather than anxious and out-of-place. The wonderful guys at Scene It work towards much the same basis, providing furniture setups and decor for your wedding so that it feels less like an empty venue and more like the home of one of the best days of your life. The amazing Sparrow & Rose Prop Hire will also be displaying their incredible prop range, which ranges from the pretty to the peculiar and everything in between: we’re talking whisky barrels, mirrors and windows for table plans, blankets, fairy lights, cameras & radios, tin baths to be filled with ice and champagne, trunks & suitcases, old bottles, jars and antique vases, french enamelware, depression glass, cake stands & cloches with some antlers and taxidermy thrown in too!

Let’s talk about scran, baby, let’s talk about you and me…we’ll have some of our favourite caterers at the market to talk you through the dish delish options they can serve up for you, with The Pantry Edinburgh on hand to discuss street food from their trusty Tuck Truck, and Bespoke Catering who – like the name suggests – create everything totally bespoke for you. The Something Brewed Coffee Bar will be there too, because, let’s face it, the time for tepid hot water urns and crappy ground coffee is up, isn’t it really?
