Supplier Spotlight –  Meet HILDE. wedding planning and design

8 April 2018

REFINED ELEGANCE + GOOD TIMES.

We breathe a giant collective sigh of contentment whenever we see Hilde.‘s work, because her aesthetic is just. so. damn. good. She’s passionate about planning and designing meaningful weddings with real character – considered gatherings with quality friendships and slick, refined elegance. Which is what they should be about, at the end of the day. We’re super lucky to have her as one of our The Wedding Collective members, so we stole some time to chat with her about her inspirations and her day-to-day life – which sounds super dreamy, by the way!

WHO ARE YOU + WHERE ARE YOU BASED?

I’m Anne, the founder of Hilde. – a London based wedding planning and design service.

DESCRIBE YOUR WORKPLACE

Ever since the launch of Hilde. I’m finding myself ‘working’ wherever I am – sometimes without even noticing. Just like most creatives, I can’t help myself but constantly think about how to achieve the best possible outcome for my clients and business…It’s a real force and I love it!

However, one of my favourite places to physically work from is probably my office at our home in North London. I love the calm, quiet and to be surrounded by things that inspire me or that I find visually pleasing.

WHERE/HOW DID IT ALL BEGIN?

It has always been there when I think about it – the urge to create, plan and turn things on its head. And whilst I did exactly that in the world of creative agencies for nearly a decade, it often dawned on me that there was something missing, and that something was passion.

When I first had the idea for Hilde. I knew that this is it – the ‘thing’ that gets me up in the morning! With the best about it still being the value it brings to others and the byproduct of me feeling as content as I ever have with what I do.

FAVOURITE WORK TO DATE?

I absolutely loved putting my shoot ‘Cold Summer, Warm Hearts’ together and working alongside a hand full of the kindest and inspiring industry ladies. Each image was carefully crafted and speaks volumes – definitely a very special one to me!

I’ve also been very lucky to work with a Japanese bride (she wore a traditional Japanese wedding Kimono!) and German groom in London last year. Their story is most touching and their brief was spot on – the best combination and absolutely one of my favourite weddings!

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

My biggest inspiration is my husband, our travels and the way we live our live together.  I also draw inspiration from other people, talking to complete strangers, reading, reading, reading, camping and a brisk hike through remote parts of nature. The Isle of Skye is an old favourite!

DESCRIBE YOUR TYPICAL DAY

WHERE’S YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE TO GO?

California, Zion (Utah), Isle of Skye, San Francisco, New York, Berlin

FAVOURITE WEDDING VENUE?

Barbican, Dalston Heights

TRENDS YOU HOPE TO SEE THIS SEASON

Besides my heartfelt sense of refined elegance and considered understatement, I hope for everyone to really have the wedding they want and that suits them and their story – regardless of trends.

BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE BEEN GIVEN?

Keep it real. Always.

People buy into you, as much as they buy into what you offer.
