REAL WEDDING –  The 1970s Icelandic inspired wedding in The Dutch Barn

19 March 2018
bohemian wedding in Scotland hillside

When the wedding was a blend of the couple’s love of nature, Stevie Nicks, and Iceland (the place, not the shop), you know you’re in for a corker. And when you find out that India and Nicholas describe their relationship as a little like John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell’s from Stepbrothers, and learn they did yoga, chilled out and went for a swim in the loch on the morning of their wedding, you know it’s an absolute belter. And when you see the photos of their gorgeous bohemian hillside ceremony and the ensuing knees-up in the hygge-d out barn, you’re going to absolutely fall in love.

The venue is one of Scotland’s treasures, only accessible via a windy 4 mile track lochside, which takes you through the trees, past the Highland cows, and past a Buddhist retreat. Once you arrive, it’s no less eclectic and every bit as fabulous as you’d imagine. India looked a bohemian dream in her geometric Rowanjoy Bridal number – and who better to capture such magic than the wonderful Caro Weiss? India says Caro got photos she’d never known were being taken in places she’d never even seen Caro in, resulting in the most awe-inspiring curation of photos. We’re obviously major fans of Caro’s work at the wedding collective – she’s perfect at grabbing those little moments that make the memories so much more real when they come flooding back.
