Oooosh, this wedding between golden girl Amy and cheeky chappy Leigh is to die for!
They found their venue on a weekend-long six-stop roadtrip around Scotland, during which they fell in love with the gorgeous Rowallan castle. Falling head-over-heels with the wonderfully preserved interior and exterior and its casually grand vibes, Amy and Leigh accentuated this with trailing ivy wrapped around banisters, an ivy-adorned chuppah and gold and silver HOORAY balloons.
In homage to Leigh’s home country and also the country in which the couple spent a lot of their first few months when Amy lived out there, the day was a blend of Scottish and Italian influences – with a mixture of cranachan and Cicetti on the menu from the Glasshouse caterers – mostly masterminded from London. It was in London that the gold embellished Temperley dress caught Amy’s eye (like it happens in the movies – she rang to reserve it, it was the last one in the company, and she tried it on and instantly knew!) and that Leigh found his tartan Paul Smith suit.
The day was completely perfect for their own love story, with a personalised humanist ceremony with vows that included the promise of a dog, and smashing the glass. Finish it off with many an Aperol spritz, chair dancing and Tina Turner, and you’re onto a winner. All captured by TWC’s own, the wonderful Caro Weiss, who has provided us with these airy beauties full of grins, gold and good times.
