Real Wedding by The Kitcheners –  A 70s bohemian highland dream wedding

17 January 2018

Well well well, what have we got here? Only the most divine lochside wedding you’ve ever had the privilege of laying eyes on. Ok, the most divine wedding you’ve ever had the privilege of laying eyes on, period.

The Kitcheners have worked their usual (and yet so unusual) magic on this sublime little number, catching the most gorgeous light and the most fleeting but important of moments throughout the day. They were the perfect storytellers for this particular love story – in fact, Cal and Jen didn’t look at any other photographers.

Jen and Cal’s big day was held at The Dell of Abernethy, a stunning location in the Highlands where Jen had been holidaying yearly since she was only a baby. With unparalleled view and a heart-warming sense of community and familial closeness, it was the perfect place for them to get married. The woodland-set ceremony was held on the lochside with a close family friend performing it, before moving onto the reception in a tent in the gorgeous grounds. Decorated with flowers taped to the backdrop, rag bunting suspended from the awning, and a plethora of awesome props from We Hire Love, the tent housed an afternoon (into an evening) full of pie and mash served from Land Rover pop-up kitchen The Wild Rover, craft beer, glitter, a ceilidh, and a whole lotta ravin’ (to folk music. Who knew?)

The whole day is a gorgeous homage to vintage nostalgia intertwined with modern romance, made possible with killer creative eyes from the couple and a ream of talented wedding suppliers. The photos are swoonworthy and I think the day was too!
